Thursday's shoe story .:. rain, rain .:.

after about a year of walking around on rainy days with soggy feet, and cursing myself for not buying rain boots...I caved...and look at the adorableness that sits on my feet on those days!!

so they never went on sale, but they are worth every penny...plus I found a gift card...they are at Target!  go, free your feet from the soggyness! 

What I'm Working on - Jen's Bridal Party

more friends, more weddings, and more bridal party jewelry!!

Jen and Steve are getting married in October, and she's asked me to design the jewelry her girls will wear that day!  we had a brainstorming session last week, and the decision is crystals and pearls- something neutral that can easily be worn again!  smart girl!!  so I'm in the process of putting together earrings and bracelets for her five bridesmaids and one flower girl :)

tutorial - clothespin planters!

I came across this adorable tutorial the other day after just having made tuna for lunch, and if I had clothespins on hand, I would have put it together right away!  a really cute project for spring- and one that is environmentally friendly - putting old tin cans to use...from the Family Chic Blog, clothespin planters!

 

you just need a few simple materials, and you have yourself a pop of green inside your house!  perfect for this time of year :)

to one of my favorite room mates, and fabulous new mommy...happy 29th birthday!!

love you!!  we must plan a visit soon...mr Parker is getting too big too fast!!

one interesting, scary, challenging, but very rewarding year...

it's been a whole year since our little kevin was sick...off to the emergency vet with a not so good prognosis of kidney disease that left me pretty much inconsolable...but he turned out to be a fighter, and I could not be more thrilled...I couldn't imagine our house without the little furball in it, and his personality has come out in ways we never saw before...I think even though it was an awful, and traumatic experience, (not to mention costly), we all came out better in the end for it...he's more outgoing and therefore gets the love and attention he deserves, and I realized how lucky I am to have him, and his counterpart Jack...and sometimes Eddie...

so I'm off to feed him his special food, and listen to his happy meows as I bring the bowl to him :) 

here's to many more happy years my furry friend!!

MaryAnne of Wabisabi Brooklyn is as sweet as she is creative - her line of work includes re-purposing coins into fabulous jewelry!!  *she's also the one who's inspired me to make my posts about lists!  which I hope is an interesting addition to the blog!!

Friday Finds - pops of color

looking through the suggested Etsy merchandising tips for spring...bright bold pops of color are "in"...with that being said, I bring you Friday Finds on Etsy...Pops of Color!

this "Day bag" by Abba Dabba Bags is a perfect mix of colors- the navy with the bright blue is a great contrast, and quite the pop of color!

personal intervention...scarves

so we all know how much I love shoes, and now nail polish...but another one of my addictions that I only recently became aware of...is scarves...

when I lent a few to Jen for her trip to Philly for BMAC, I realized after they were on their way, how much I rely on my scarves to put outfits together...a plain shirt, paired with a multi-colored (and usually glittery) scarf becomes an outfit!  so I went into my closet, and pulled out *most* of my scarves to show you in this confession...

so if you are ever out shopping with me...and you see me with scarf in hand...remind me...that I have a problem :)

today is the birthday of one of my greatest inspirations in life...Dr Seuss...he would have been 107 years old if his genius was still with us today!  

so I'm ditching my original lesson plan for class, and we're going to have a Dr Seuss themed day!  now I'm off to watch the Lorax, Green Eggs and Ham and all the others that are on my Seuss DVD :)  

it's also my goal to own all the books in his collection...so far I'm doing pretty good, but as you can see from this photo, I've got a ways to go!!

great responsibilities

since joining BEST (Baltimore Etsy Street Team) a few years back, I've really started to embrace living in Baltimore, and making some great new friends to make me feel more at home...well this year, they asked me to be one of the Core members, which comes with more responsibility, but I am up and super willing for the challenge!

What you'll need:

• Frame
• Paint (if you need to paint your frame)
• Foam core or heavy cardboard
• Fabric to cover the foam core
• Hot glue gun
• map pins or hooks to hang jewelry from
