that time I ranted about the Bachelor...

i never thought i'd be someone who watched the Bachelor- not only watched, but recorded so i wouldn't miss it...

but it is fun, sometimes painful to watch, and sometimes i find myself yelling at the tv when I am watching...

okay, so it isn't very realistic, and it's obvious why so many of the couples don't make it...i guess regular life isn't quite as glamorous as jetting around the world, having candle-lit dinners on the side of mountains...

i guess what is always funny to me, is that there is always that one "crazy" contestant that the others don't get along with...and obviously the producers like that for ratings...and i know they are living in a weird, cut off from the rest of the world 'reality'...but i can't believe the way some people act on national tv!

it does feel like it's all about the ratings sometimes...and not about actually finding love...because if it was, they would warn the contestants when someone is not there...to quote just about everyone on the show...."for the right reasons"...

anyway, i am all for folloiwng how you feel- but Sean, you need a girl who gets along with at least one other person...can't spend all your time together...honestly, how annoying would it be to be with someone who gets hurt and needs to be sent to the ER multiple times in just a few short weeks?  drama central!  send Tierra packing please!

anyway, my front runners are Catherine...and maybe Dez.

time to go detox from two days in a row of bachelor-mania.

if I worte commercials

I went to college (the first time) and got a degree in Marketing.  I always said it was because I wanted to write commercials...or as me and my Dad would say, write commercials that weren't horrible...

but every once and a while, i see a commercial that restores my faith in those people who make them...

this one really made me laugh :)

also, thanks Dad for teaching me how to throw a softball the right way ;)

"You know, it occurs to me you could solve all your problems by obtaining more money."

story of my life these days...

I love this clip from the Big Bang Theory...but they wouldn't let me embed it...so go watch it if you need a little laugh :)  and know you're not the only poor starving artist/teacher out there...

weekend o' sick days

whew.  this was quite a weekend...and for the exact opposite of the reasons last weekend was...

I left the house the minimum number of times I had to...slept a lot...took a lot of cold medicine...and spent most of my time laying down...the cats did seem to like it...

I also made a ridiculous amount of jewelry, so maybe the fumes from the glue got to me...or the amount of talking yelling I had to do at school this week...thinking I may have bruised my vocal cords..so being by myself all weekend with no one to talk to was actually a good thing

so Netflix and I got well acquainted...I watched the whole series of Arrested Development, which I heard is coming out with new episodes, so I am totally ready for that :)  I also forgot how funny that show was...the crazy characters names, and the fact that they really kept up the running jokes through all the seasons...I am definitely looking forward to the new episodes...

one of the funniest scenes that really got me laughing- and all by myself...that's how I gauge if something is really funny...if it makes me laugh out loud when I'm alone...was Bob Loblaw (the family lawyer) and his blog...

or how every member of the family has their own idea of what a chicken "sounds" like...

I think all the new episodes are going to be online...so until then...I'll find my next series to watch...I've got Mad Men and Breaking Bad in my queue okay, now off to bed...

only one and a half school days to get through until Thanksgiving break...let's do this!!

9012-Old Navy!

yup, guilty.

I was so excited when I saw Old Navy's new back-to-school campaign for their jeans!   While I am an Old Navy loyal shopper...I don't always find their ad campaigns very appealing...a lot of times they border on annoying...but this one...LOVE!

I wouldn't know how to choose either Kelly...I mean Jennie...

I was definitely a 90210 fan back in Middle & High School...my friend Lynn and I would get together, eat mac&cheese and watch the show together...

it ended our Senior year...sort of symbolic in a way...the end of en era, and the beginning of another...

that happened with a few of my very favorite shows...

both Friends and Sex & the City ended not just the year I graduated from college in 2004...but they ended the same month...

talk about a shock to my system...all my favorite things ending at the same time.

okay...maybe that is a bit dramatic.  but it's how I remember it ;)

throwback tv...Dawson's Creek!

holy moly!  I forgot how much I loved Dawson's Creek...as cheesy as it might have been...I just fell right back in love with it watching it for the second time through...I don't think I've seen an episode since it went off the air in 2002...but watching it again was like visiting old friends...so thank you Netflix for offering the entire series on your watch instantly selections!

I was surprised, because the theme song that was such an important part of the show, "I don't wanna wait" by Paula Cole, was replaced by another song, "Run Like Mad" by Jann Arden...it definitely was a little odd at first...and then when I came to the final episode, the series finale, the original song was playing...

I forgot just how much drama was involved with the characters...and how many times Joey would drift between Dawson and Pacey...and how much I wished real guys were like them :p

I think one of my most favorite moments in the show was when Pacey bought Joey the wall to paint...and that he wrote "ask me to stay" on it...ahh the grand romantic gestures of the Creek...

when we were in Wilmington for our friends wedding a few weeks ago, I was able to roam around a little to look for some of the landmarks from the show, since it was filmed there...but I didn't have as much time as I would have liked...I did find this dock, which is featured in many episodes, and I did find Joey's wall...even though it was behind some structures now...it's still there!

there were a lot of actors who had parts on DC before they were big stars themselves...in Season 6, Eddie the bartender who works at Hell's Kitchen with Joey is played by Oliver Hudson and Natasha the actress on the movie Dawson is working on is played by Bianca Kajlich...who later are one of my favorite funny couples on Rules of Engagement...so weird how that worked out!!

like reminiscing with old friends...it was fun to go back and re-watch...and to see how the cast really grew up on the show :)

The One Where Rachel Finds Out

Episode 24 - Season 1 Finale!

Rachel: This one's from Joey. Feels like a book, I think it's a book. Feels like a book, and... it's a book!
Phoebe: Oh, it's Dr. Seuss!
Joey: That book got me through some tough times.
Melanie: There is a little child inside this man!
Chandler: Yes, the doctors say if they remove it, he'll die.

Ross: Do you guys know who Carl is?
Chandler: Uh, let's see. Alvin, Simon, Theodore.... No.
Ross:: Well, Rachel's having drinks with him tonight.
Joey: Oh no! How can she do that when she's never shown any interest in you?

Joey: We want you to be happy. And I may only have a couple beers in me, but... I love you, man.
Chandler: I'm still on my first. I... I just think you're nice.

Phoebe: Oh, it's so pretty. This must have cost him a fortune.
Monica: I can't believe he did this.
Chandler: Come on--Ross? Remember back in college, when he fell in love with Carol and bought her that ridiculously expensive crystal duck?
Rachel: What did you just say?
Chandler: ahem... um... Crystal duck?

The One With The Birth

Episode 23 - Season 1

Monica: Joey, what are you gonna do when you have a baby?
Joey: I'm gonna be in the waitin' room, handing out cigars!
Chandler: Yes, Joey's made arrangements to have his baby in a movie from the 50's.

Susan:
You get to be the baby's father. Everyone knows who you are. Who am I? There's Father's Day, there's Mother's Day, there's no... Lesbian Lover Day!
Ross: Every day is Lesbian Lover Day!

Ross: Everybody, there's someone I'd like you to meet. Yeah. This is Ben. Ben, this is everybody.
Phoebe: Susan, he looks just like you!

The One With The Ick Factor

Episode 22 - Season 1

Chandler: They do me?
Phoebe: You know, like... uh, okay: "Could that report be any later?"
Chandler: I don't sound like that.
Ross: Oh, oh Chandler...
Joey: Yeah, you do.
Ross: "The hills were alive with the sound of music.
Joey: My scones!
Phoebe, Ross, & Joey: "My scones!"
Chandler: Okay, I don't sound like that. That is so not true. That is so not... That is so not... Oh, shut up!

Ross: Phebes, why would you want to operate a drill press?
Phoebe: Just for some short-term work. You know, until I get back some of my massage clients.
Chandler: Pirates again?
Phoebe: No, nothing like that. I was just such a dummie. I taught this "massage-yourself-at-home workshop," and they are.

Ross: Are you not seeing him anymore?
Monica: No. You know, sometimes just... things doesn't work out.
Chandler: And this has nothing to do with the fact that he needs a note to get out of gym.

The One With The Fake Monica

Episode 21 - Season 1

Rachel: Monica, would you calm down? The credit card people said that you only have to pay for the stuff that you bought.
Monica: Still... it's just such reckless spending.
Ross: I think when someone steals your credit card, they've kind of already thrown caution to the wind.
Chandler: Wow, what a geek. They spent $69.95 on a Wonder Mop.
Monica: That's me.

Chandler: Joe... Joe... Joe... Stalin?
Joey: Stalin. Stalin. Do I know that name? It sounds familiar.
Chandler: Well, it does not ring a bell with me.
Joey: Joe Stalin. You know, that's pretty good.
Chandler: Might wanna try, "Joseph."
Joey: Joseph Stalin. I think you'd remember that!

Chandler: Take off their hats!
Phoebe: Popes in a Volkswagen!
Chandler: Mmm-hmm!
Phoebe: I love that joke.

The One With The Evil Orthodontist

Episode 20 - Season 1

Joey: Man, we gotta do something about that guy. This morning, I caught him looking into our apartment. It creeps me out! I feel like I can't do stuff!
Monica: What kinda, "stuff?"
Joey: Will you grow up? I'm not talking about sexy stuff; but, like, when I'm cooking naked.
Phoebe: You cook naked?
Joey: Yeah. Toast, oatmeal... nothing that spatters.

Mindy: I hope you can find some way to be happy for me. And I hope you'll still be my maid of honour.
Rachel: And I hope Barry doesn't kill you and eat you in Aruba.

Joey: All right, I'll give you this, Mr. Peanut is a better dresser. I mean he's got the monocle, he's got the top hat...
Phoebe: You know he's gay?
Ross: I just wanna clarify this: Are you outing Mr. Peanut?

things that make me laugh

I love my furry children...they are always doing something funny, and they have no idea how much they amuse me...

take for example the other day...how Jack, who loves to 'share' whatever I happen to be drinking put not just his nose, but whole head in my cup the other day...I'm sure this is really only funny to me...but I thought I'd share :)

the three cats are getting along better these days...maybe they'll even like each other soon :)

also...super excited that new tv is back...and thank goodness for Tivo for keeping me hopelessly addicted to all the shows I love...

most excited for...The Office....only 34 hours to go until the new episode!!!!!

The One Where The Monkey Gets Away

Episode 19 - Season 1

Joey: All right, all right. You're a monkey; you're loose in the city. Where do you go?
Chandler: Okay, it's his first time out, so he's probably gonna wanna do some of the touristy things. I'll go to Cats, you go to The Russian Tea Room.

Ross: Marcel, bring me the rice, come on. Bring me the rice. Come on. Good boy, good boy. Come here, gimme the rice. Thank you, good boy. Well, I see he's finally mastered the difference between, "bring me the..." and "pee in the...."

Ross: Alright, I want my monkey.
Luisa: No!
Rachel: Oh, come on, Luisa!
Luisa: Sorry, Prom Queen.
Ross: You had to be a bitch in high school, you couldn't have been fat!

Phoebe: Oh, this is so intense. One side of my butt is totally asleep, and the other side has no idea.

The One With All The Poker

Episode 18 - Season 1

Monica: Do you really want a job with Popular Mechanics?
Chandler: Well, if you're gonna work for mechanics, those are the ones to work for.

Ross: Rach, did you proofread these?
Rachel: Uh... yeah, why?
Ross: Uh, nothing, I'm sure they'll be impressed with your excellent compuper skills.
Rachel: Oh my God! Oh, do you think it's on all of them?
Joey: Oh no, I'm sure the Xerox machine caught a few.

Phoebe: You guys, you know what I just realized? "Joker" is "poker" with a "J." Coincidence?
Chandler: Hey, that's... that's "joincidence" with a "C!"
