Ski Trip recap

 

last weekend we ventured up to Vermont, for our annual family ski trip...and this year, I skied!  for real!  I went down a legitimate trail...up a real chair lift, and all the way down!  it might have taken me a very long time...but I did it...and I am very proud of myself!

it snowed all the days we were there, which made the skiing a lot more fun, and authentic feeling...even though it was April...I went snowshoeing, sledding, and built a snowman! 

 

we ate many delicious meals, and enjoyed fabulous Vermont cheese every night at cocktail hour...

we celebrated two birthdays and a retirement, and got to meet the newest member of the family, Ben :) 

let the 30th birthday celebrations, begin!

I still have a little over a year, but some of our friends begin to turn the big 3-0 this year...starting off the celebrations in Vegas, we went to have a little fun for Joey, Scott and Karla.

this was pretty much a whirlwind trip...but because of a flight I had to cancel last year, and Brett's Southwest credit card...we flew out for free...and thanks to another good friend letting us use his timeshare (in a FANTASTIC hotel) we stayed for free...now this is the way to start out in Vegas...everything free! 

so good food, a little gambling, and the Beatles LOVE show...not a bad little trip!

since the last two days of our trip were predicted to rain...we made it down to the island, and hit the beach for old times sake...saw the condo we used to rent, and walked up and down the beach...the sun even came out for a little bit :)

the house in SC is beautiful...truly a home away from home...it was so nice and warm, and quiet at night...really peaceful...it was very hard to leave!

on my way to sunny South Carolina...mom & I are spending a few days a the new house...and I am on spring break from class! hooray for vacations :)

we're leaving tonight (hopefully not in the rain) for 2 days in (hopefully) sunny Florida to celebrate Jo's 60th Birthday!!

no no, I'm not going anywhere...but our friends Kevin & Melissa are on a 2 month long excursion across the US to Hermosa Beach, CA and back...they are sharing all their adventures on their blog

Everything's Bigger in Texas

especially when you are expecting TWINS! Just got back from a weekend in the Lonestar state, visiting Liz & Jeremy, and their furry children Coach & Doby ;) who before long will be big brothers to the twins!





Had a great time...too bad it was 30 degrees there on Friday when I landed! The food was great...mexican and BBQ...and kolatchies...I think that's how you spell it...a fun filled weekend of shopping, scrapbooking and the Houston Rodeo/Martina McBride Concert!!

I <3 Vermont

Our yearly trip to Vermont was February 1st...up to the cabin at Sugarbush, where I attempted this time...to ski...slightly more successful then on the snowboard...but it will be another year until we go again...it is so beautiful up there though...I never want to come back! The cabin is so cozy, playing games in front of the fire...definitely beats city life any day!
