today is the birthday of one of my greatest inspirations in life...Dr Seuss...he would have been 107 years old if his genius was still with us today!  

so I'm ditching my original lesson plan for class, and we're going to have a Dr Seuss themed day!  now I'm off to watch the Lorax, Green Eggs and Ham and all the others that are on my Seuss DVD :)  

it's also my goal to own all the books in his collection...so far I'm doing pretty good, but as you can see from this photo, I've got a ways to go!!

Tuesday Book Review

I have yet to see the movie...but I love, love, loved the book, Confessions of a Shopaholic.

I have been known to like to spend a little myself, perhaps that's why I enjoyed the book so much...small similarities to the main character ;) of course I'm very responsible now :)

it really is a very cute story though (I tend to read cute things, as opposed to important things...judge if you want) and I'm onto the second book, Shopaholic takes Manhattan...so far, so good!

I need to see the movie, but I've heard mixed reviews- have any of you seen it??

but, if you're a girl, and like to shop occasionally, and dream of beautiful new shoes in your sleep...this one's for you!!

I finished a book!

it has been quite a while since I can admit to having finished a book I started that wasn't for school, or about how to start up my own business...so reading a book for pleasure was a somewhat foreign matter to me, when I picked up the Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs...a book I'd highly recommend if you are a fan of knitting, but even if you are not! it has some unexpected plot twists, but a warm-hearted, tale of friendship, and yarn, in good old NYC

other good books...that I have read for inspiration in starting my own creative business...The Creative License by Danny Gregory and Craft, Inc. by Meg Mateo Ilasco...very inspiring reads for aspiring artists :)
