A very busy artist, AliciaMae, is our blogger of the month for June! A big congratulations to her :)

Not only does she have a shop to share with us her eclectic mix of jewelry and polymer clay one of a kind pieces, but she also has a shop that features her beautiful photography, and another to de-stash her excess supplies. Her photography is fresh, and full of life- focused on nature, and it is really inspiring!

Mixed Media - Pastel drawing

I'm already into week 3 of my new class! How does it go so quickly? Anyway...our week 2 assignment, was to create a pastel drawing, inspired by a quotation, that could be used in a calendar. The quote I chose is:

"Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart" -Victor Hugo

Blog Carnival for May

The Carnival for this week, is to post a tutorial to share with my fellow etsy bloggers...

I saw some people were posting recipes, and off the top of my head, I can't think of anything else to make a tutorial of :p

I give you, the famous chili dip! It really is almost like an instant party snack...takes about 5 minutes to make, and it's always completely gone when I put it out for any party!

1 block of cream cheese
1 can of chili
1 bag of shredded Mexican cheese

in a microwave safe dish, mix the cream cheese and the chili until combined

top with shredded cheese

microwave until melted (usually 2-3 minutes)

and ta-da...literally the easiest party dish...ever :p and mighty delish as well...sometimes I eat it for dinner...don't tell ;)

is it done yet??

seriously, when can I move in ;)

Cozy in May

I am so in love with this scarf that our super talented, Etsy Blogger of the month has listed in her store...I've always wanted to learn to crochet, as I've somewhat gotten the hang of knitting...okay, I can make scarves, that's about my biggest accomplishment! Cozy uses the most beautiful supplies and creates masterpieces to wear on your head, or around your neck...or even to dry your dishes!

Stormy Designs is our Featured Etsy Blogger of the month, and I have the pleasure of sharing her work with my lovely blog readers (hi mom :)

A super talented polymer clay artist, her designs are so detailed and whimsical! She obviously sells her work on Etsy, but also has an entertaining blog as well that showcases her finished designs as well as works in progress...I love the sneak peek into her creative mind!

My favorite piece of hers, is the sculpted seahorse necklace, but who knew you could make vases out of polymer clay!? Stormy Design's shop is one you should NOT miss!

Blog Carnival for April

This is my first month as a member of the Etsy Bloggers Street Team...so hopefully I am doing this right :P The theme is Poetry Reading Day, so this post can be about anything Poetry related...

I'm not sure if it's technically poetry, but one of my absolute favorite author/poets was Dr Seuss. The silly made up words, the goofy rhymes, but always heart-warming stories make him my favorite as a child, and still today. I actually just found a book, that's a biography of the good Doctor, and I can not wait to find time to sit down and read it!

My all-time favorite Seuss work is How the Grinch Stole Christmas...I can basically recite the lines from memory...I'm very annoying if you watch the movie with me ;)

Every Who down in Whoville liked Christmas a lot, but the Grinch, who lived just north of Whoville, did not. The Grinch hated Christmas - the whole Christmas season. Oh, please don't ask why, no one quite knows the reason. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. Or maybe his head wasn't screwed on just right. But I think that the most likely reason of all may have been that his heart was two sizes too small.

now if that isn't pure poetry, I don't know what is!

and then of course, another favorite of mine, the Lorax, always wanting to save the environment, to 'speak for the trees'...I was always impressed with the ability to get a message out there, but all the while in a fun and interesting way for children and adults to read...there really is no one else like him :)

I really could go on and on...but I'll stop now, and end with something inspiring...Oh! The Places You'll Go!

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.

And you may not find any
you'll want to go down.
In that case, of course,
you'll head straight out of town.

It's opener there
in the wide open air.

Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

OH!
THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!
